I might be hooked. While browsing through the widgets at WidgetBox I stumbled upon a Sudoku widget. Since I’ve been watching some people solve these riddles on the commuter bus more and more often, I thought I might give it a try and hit the “Try Out Widget” button.

And not without a little bit of pride I can say that I solved my first Sudoku without a single correction. I didn’t set a timer so I don’t know how long it took me, I also don’t know what level the initial riddle was. One of the comments in the WidgetBox says the Sudokus in the widget would be too easy. Maybe someone can figure out what level it was, the greyed out numbers are set by me.. I’m amazed anyway.

Update: Looking at the english Wikipedia entry for Sudoku, I found the “Difficulty ratings” heading. It sounds as if there was no commonly agreed to method to rate the difficulty level of a Sudoku. Too bad…
