30 Days of DRM
Expecting a Candian equivalent to the U.S. Digital Millenium Copyright Act (DMCA), Michale Geist has started an initiative called 30 Days of DRM, in which he points out open issues with DRM legislation, one aspect per day. Dr. Geist is the Canada Research Chair of Internet and E-commerce Law at the University of Ottawa.
So far, he has addressed market issues such as region codes and oversight of misuse, public protection issues such as consumer awareness and product labelling or interoperability and circumvention rights such as privacy and reverse engineering.
Indeed an interesting read, also for non-Canadians. And for all of you who like to contribute, there’s also a wiki along with the blog.
